The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas is a place that likes books, writings and ideas. All together. Located in the south wing of the State Library, the Wheeler Centre not only programs events, debates and awards, but also houses such wonderful people as the Australian Poetry Centre, Emerging Writers’ Festival, Express Media, Melbourne PEN, Melbourne Writers Festival, our buddies at Overload Poetry Festival, SPUNC and Victorian Writers’ Centre. If you cannot get an idea for writing a book in this place, you’re not going to get one anywhere.

Sometimes, they even let Steve Smart visit.
